Salima joined Bindmans in May 2006 as a paralegal in the Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury department and went on to become a trainee with the department in September 2007. She subsequently spent a year training in the Immigration team and began her final seat in the Public Law and Human Rights team in September 2009. She qualified in March 2010.
Before joining Bindmans, Salima worked at the Law Centres Federation on Disability Rights Project and the SORBAEE Project (Sexual Orientation Religious Belief and Age Employment Equality).
Salima graduated with a first class BSc in Psychology from University College London in 2000, and went on to obtain a PhD in Psychology from UCL in 2005. Whilst working on her thesis, she spent 3 years as a research fellow at the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
Following completion of her doctorate Salima decided to pursue her interest in law. She studied the GDL and LPC part-time at the College of Law, passing both with distinction.
Salima is a member of Young Legal Aid Lawyers and Amnesty International.
